Playdom Rolls out Socializing Flash Games beyond Facebook

PlayDom quietly launched its own independent online gaming platform in a bid to host their games without the control from Facebook and other social networking sites. The new portal also allows players to play all of their social games on Faebook with new account required, according to our finding.
Playdom rolled out its new portal aiming to gain as more revenues as they can since 30% of the earnings made from Facebook-hosted games are taken off by Facebook side, which requires players to purchase gaming virtual items using Faebook Credits.
The online gaming companies sought to avoid excessive dependability and faithfulness to Facebook by launching their own independent portal, largely hoping to maximize revenues and to gain full control of all their games. This also happens to Zynga, which also plans to leverage its current resources to bring their own platform, gathering users to Zynga’s fully controlled portal.
Should all social gaming portal make their own independent portal, how does Facebook respond? Raise their adverting fees? or decreasing % to attract more developers?
There is, without doubt, PlayDom would hope to become new Kongregate. The first step Gaming Portal Launched, and chances are the next step is to attract more browser game developers to integrate their games on Playdom. What a good strategy!
