This is a selection of the most anticipated PC Games for windows set for the release of 2011, and it is rewarding to check their latest updates and follow-ups.

Scrolling down the list of our video games directory, we selected a couple of PC Games in 2011, with mass focuses and spotlighted coverage. While these new upcoming 2011 arrivals are not all multiplayer-supported, but all of them are available on computer devices.

We picked up the games whose genre range from Strategy, to RPG, to simulation and action, and do Whatever possible to stasfy all gamer’s needs. Althrough all game’s release dates are not confirmed yet, and even some games will be released in the year of 2012.

1, Dragon Age II

Dragon Age II, the highly anticipated sequel to 2009’s “RPG of the Year” Dragon Age: Origins, is an even more fascinating and ground-breaking RPG developed by BioWare, a division of Electronic Arts Inc. Gamers are able to witness the rise to power of Hawke, a legendary figure in the Dragon Age universe embracing destiny without fear and groping into the path of superhero, and what’s more, engage in a blood-soaked and visceral combat against the formidable enemies. There are two ways one can play Dragon Age II: tackle it like an action RPG with smooth and responsive real-time controls, or behave in a more considerate way applying pause and play approach, issuing orders tactically.

2, Total War: Shogun II

With the beat of traditional Japanese Taiko drumming, Total War: Shogun II is set in feudal Japan around 1545 when the country is split into many warring clans. The game provides a player an inviting opportunity to role as a Japanese Daimyo – the clan leader in medieval Japan, build cites, manage troops and use tactics to re-unite Japan under his supreme command and make himself a new shogun. Gamers can expect to see the improvement of AI, 3D real-time battles and revolutionary multiplayer modes. Total War: Shogun II will startle both total war fans and newcomers!

3, Crysis 2

Considered as the best-looking first person shooter on consoles and PC, Crysis 2 is set 3 years later than the events of Crysis 1. In the game, you play as a soldier who inherits means to become a super-soldier, fights against those terrifying alien stalkers and tries every method of using tools and sandboxes to accomplish your mission of saving the urban jungle of New York City. Nanosuit 2 is a quite enhanced suit of armor which enables you to play in cloak, go invisible, and provides other powers like night vision, allowing you to fight in the dark or under the water.

4, Duke Nukem Forever

3D Realms was a perfectionist developer and would not forgive a single miss of any update in technology so as to deliver Duke Nukem Forever. Slated to launch in 1998, Duke Nukem Forever has nearly exhausted the patience of its fans by constantly changing development schedule. After all, the gaming world finally came to see the light at the end of tunnel. Despite the collapse of 3D Realms, the title has now been in development by Gearbox Software, which, together with 2K games, announced an expected release date of 2011.

5, Torchlight 2

Torchlight 2 is a low-budget yet excellent ARPG developed by Runic Games. Compared with the original Torchlight 1, the sequel includes four new character classes such as Railman and Outlander customizable to cater for each player’s needs. The game features a free peer-to-peer matchmaking service and an option to create various mods by players. Players will experience random and distinct outdoor environments, dungeons and monsters. Besides, Torchlight 2 can be played on line for free.

6, Portal 2

Portal 2 is a first person action game developed by Valve Software and will challenge the player’s imagination and sense of space by solving puzzles in test chambers using portal gun. Besides the single player mode, the game will include a two player co-op mode as well in which more difficult test chambers are designed to encourage trust and cooperation between players.

7, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings

The Witcher 2 is difficult to master, though easy to learn. Choice making is kind of decisive and of great significance in this game as the way the story works out is completely dependent on the immense choices and each choice will make the overall outcome appear different. Despite the Aurora engine used by the Witcher 1, CD Projekt RED created the TSOOD engine tailored to the needs for the Witcher 2. Players who haven’t played the original Witcher do not have to keep themselves in suspense since AOK unravels a new chapter in the Witcher’s World.

8, Star Wars: The Old Republic

Players will be desperate to immerse themselves in Star Wars: The Old Republic due to most coveted storylines and incredible characters. The game takes place thousands of years before the rise of Darth Vader when the original Sith re-emerged and launched a surprise attack on the Old Republic which resulted to constant border conflicts in the galaxy. In addition to the broad story arc, there are eight classes, each with their separate epic stories, and players can choose to be a Sith, a Jedi, or other classes. They may encounter moral choices, friendships or betrayals and can get a unique experience through the Star Wars universe.

9, Batman: Arkham City

The sequel to 2009 blockbuster action game – Batman: Arkham Asylum got a new title, Batman: Arkham City, developed by Rocksteady Studios and published by Warner Bros. The story transfers the attention from the loony bin to Arkham City, an imprisonment built on a large section of slums in Gotham City by the former warden of Arkham Asylum and put amid tight security and within gigantic walls. The player controls Batman to carry out his missions by using gadgets including the newly developed ones: smoke bombs and a broadcast tracer device. Moreover, the excellent dubbing cast will surely give players wonderful entertainment.

10, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Gamers fond of The Elder Scrolls by Bethesda Softworks must be driven excited to learn about the sequel to Oblivion – The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be released on November 11th, 2011. Rumors go around that a new engine with better graphics will be used in this game. First details about the content of Skyrim can be found in the February 2011 edition of the Game Informer magazine.

11, Mass Effect 3

Mass Effect 3 concludes the trilogy of Command Shepard’s story. “Earth is burning”, and Shepard will once again save the humanity, not in outer space, but on the homeland Earth this time. Mass Effect 3 will allow players to import their decisions from the previous titles, both from Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 in order to maintain continuity within the series. Over 1000 variables are put in the storylines to ensure players can constitute the story according to their own choices.

12, Diablo III

Diablo III is a dark fantasy ARPG by Blizzard. In the game, players are thrust into the role of a male or female hero from one of five distinct character classes and will return to Sanctuary to combat against the demonic forces, gaining extraordinary power and experience. Diablo III supports both cooperative and competitive play although the former remains the major focus. In addition, as the third installment of the Diablo series, Diablo III includes a new engine that can display characters and hordes of monsters in a lush, fully 3D environment.

13, Guild Wars 2

Guild Wars 2, a sequel to the original Guild Wars, is a massively multiplayer online game now in development by ArenaNet. This second installment continues with the no-monthly-fee business model and will allow a player to create a character from five races and eight professions. There are epic and personalized storylines, for instance, the awakening of the elder dragons and their destruction to Tyria, the rise and decline of Destiny’s Edge, and stories reflecting the player’s personal character. A side-kick system guarantees that characters of a lower level can play with high level characters without disadvantage.

14, DotA 2

Valve and IceFrog have made joint efforts to create DotA 2 which is a sequel to Defense of the Ancients and will ship on PC and Mac platforms. DotA 2 is intended to remain the similar style to the original DotA, and to a certain extent , is a technology upgraded version based on DotA. An AI feature aims to be used in case the player leaves. Besides, a built-in voice call system and a training mode have been added in the game as to provide even more amazing game experience. The player is tasked with defeating the enemy forces and the one who makes the deadly blow can get a larger portion of gold.
