Google: PC gaming in the browser – no plugins, no Flash, no player

Previous Browser games put forward most plug-ins, Flash, or special web players, and such Add-ons caused much trouble for those who do not have these plugins intalled on their browsers.  But Google wants to improve the gaming in the browser and give such features in the browsers without plugins, flash and web player invovled, Google showed a first demo at GDC 2011.

Google said the browser gaming will have become a mainstream trend in future. Yet players tend to encounter or run into such problems that they cannot find solutions to deal with them. Without any extra plugins or other softwares, Google has shown the future of Web-based browser games at GDC 2011. According to Vincent Scheib, a software engineer at Google.

The games run without any plugins or specific web players. He showed several demos in his lecture. “Many types of technology are available today or are in the beta phase. You do not have to use Flash.” First, he showed a version of the first-person shooter Quake 2 in the browser . Quake II is a first-person shooter computer game developed by Id Software.

With new technolgy growing, we have every reason to believe that WebGL 3D graphics, HTML5 audio,  HTML 5 Web Sockets, and  HTML5 Canvas will suppurt future browser games, making pc gaming possible in browsers and also in multiplayer mode (MMO).

Note: The HTML5 canvas element the dynamic rendering of graphics on a web page.
